Animal Health: All auction animals have official RFID tags, were calf-hood vaccinated with 7-way clostridial, have been given a 4-way viral vaccine and multiple annual vaccinations for mycoplasma.  Prior to transfer of ownership, all animals will have been genetically tested and will not have cattle mitochondrial DNA.

  • Yearling Heifers (2020 born) will be vaccinated against Mycoplasma bovis, IBR, BVD (I & II), PI3, BRSV, and given a dewormer.  As calves, all heifers were official calfhood vaccinated (OCV) with RB-51 and given a 7-way clostridial.   Additional vaccinations and tests at buyer’s request, risk and expense.

  • Two-Year-Old Bred Heifers (2019 born) will be vaccinated against Mycoplasma bovis, IBR, BVD (I & II), PI3, BRSV, and given a dewormer.  As calves, all heifers were official calfhood vaccinated (OCV) with RB-51 and given a 7-way clostridial.  Guaranteed pregnant by palpation or ultrasound at the time of the auction.   Additional vaccinations and tests at buyer’s request, risk and expense.

  • 2019 born Breeding Bulls (including Castle Rock, Yellowstone, Spikebox Ranch and Z Bar Ranch) were tested at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University confirmed to have bison MtDNA. All bulls will be vaccinated against Mycoplasma bovis, IBR, BVD (I & II), PI3, BRSV, and given a dewormer. As calves, all bulls were additionally given a 7-way clostridial. Additional vaccinations and tests at buyer’s request, risk and expense.  Information regarding Bull Fertility can be found in the TRPPA Breeding Bull Guarantee section.

  • All Yellowstone National Park derived bulls were tested at The College of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University and confirmed to have bison mtDNA. Multiple nuclear satellite markers were genotyped and are consistent with these animals deriving from Yellowstone National Park bison lineage. Genetic test reports including all alleles determined for a set of nuclear microsatellite markers and are provided for each Yellowstone National Park derived bull (these genetic markers are used for DNA based animal identification and parentage analysis).

  • All Vermejo Park Castle Rock bulls will be selected from the herd and genetically tested at The College of Veterinary Medicine, Texas A&M University and confirmed to have bison mtDNA. A full set of nuclear microsatellite markers used for DNA identification and parentage will be provided for each Castle Rock bull. The DNA information will be available by March 1, 2022.
